Reece's Rainbow

When you choose to adopt a child, you are making a promise to that child and to the world. You are stating openly that your family is emotionally and financially prepared to complete your adoption in a timely manner, knowing how urgent your rescue mission is. You recognize that a life is at stake, and know that you have the funds and the time available to save that child from life and death in a mental institution.

In order to be officially matched with a child on our site, families must complete certain paperwork and pay certain initial application and agency fees to indicate their financial commitment to their chosen child. You must also be absolutely certain that you are able and willing to meet the travel requirements as listed by the child's adoption officials.

*** For families adopting from countries where an agency is involved/required, this relationship is strictly between you and the agency, and all fees are set and paid directly to them. Once that is received, the agency will notify Reece's Rainbow and we can mark your child matched on the site.

*** For families adopting independently from Ukraine and Serbia (without an agency), the Reece's Rainbow Promise Trust Fund is designed to hold similar commitment funds. This Promise Trust requirement also applies to several regions of RUSSIA, where initial agency fees are very low.

Families choosing a child in Ukraine or Serbia (and some regions of Russia) must submit:

Your Promise Trust payment is a portion of your quoted adoption costs in Ukraine and Serbia. IT IS NOT A DONATION. It is held for you in a separate account until your dossier is successfully submitted and you are given a travel date. These funds are then RETURNED TO YOU, along with any grant money your child has available, and any additional funds your family has earned through our Family Sponsorship Program.

Should you not be able to complete your adoption for any reason, this money is non-transferable and non-refundable. Your FSP application includes this same explanation, and families will be required to sign it and send via snail-mail prior to a match on our site. If you should be unable to complete your adoption, half of your Promise Trust payment will be given as a grant to your chosen child for the next family, and half of it will be used in our Voice of Hope Fund.

Thank you for understanding the need to require this small financial commitment up front. When a child is matched on the site, they are no longer eligible for other families to consider them. Considering that every child we have waiting is living on borrowed time and in an URGENT situation, it is unfair to mark them matched with a family who is not financially prepared to go through with the adoption. Our first responsibility is to the children!!
