 Connecting the RainbowAn Outreach Program for Birth Families of Children with Down Syndrome Abroad
The primary focus of Reece's Rainbow is to raise grant funds and promote the international adoption and rescue of children with Down syndrome in particular. However, our long term goal is to eliminate the need for Reece's Rainbow by serving as a catalyst for social change abroad.
One of the most important ways we can do this is by "connecting the rainbow". Connecting the Rainbow is a special program designed to serve the birth families of children born with Down syndrome who have chosen to raise them at home instead of putting them in orphanages. It is a direct extension of Reece's Rainbow. A small number of family groups have come together in various cities around the world, the makings of their own Down Syndrome Associations (DSA's).
They are reaching out for help, knowledge, support....all the things our own DSA's come together across the country to provide to each other on a personal level.
Connecting the Rainbow makes it possible to donate for the needs to these brave families...to provide them with current information and resources for their children, teaching methods, therapy techniques, funds for medical needs/education, etc. This is a tremendous opportunity to empower these families to fight for change in their own countries, and to raise awareness of the ABILITIES of their children.
The journey starts in Sofia, Bulgaria and Kiev, Ukraine!
