Church Sponsorships

In the United States alone, 137 million people claim to be Christians of some denomination.  If only 1% of the Christians in this country adopted just ONE CHILD, 1.37 MILLION CHILDREN from abroad would have loving, Christian families to grow up in.  (statistics from Families of Promise, 2000)

Whether you're Methodist, Catholic, or non-denominational, the WORD is the WORD:

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress." (James 1:27)

It is hard to deny or misinterpret God's message from James 1:27.   Although He does not specifically say one MUST adopt (as the concept of the legal adoption of someone else's child likely didn't exist 2000 years ago), it is quite clear that His command is for us to care for orphans and be their voice in some fashion.  While some families may not feel led to adopt, there are many ways in which you can make a difference and facilitate the adoption of children with Down syndrome.   Adoption helps to meet the physical, emotional, medical, and educational needs of some of the world's most vulnerable.  Adopting these angels into Christian homes places children who might not otherwise have heard the Gospel into situations where they will grow up surrounded by the message and support of His grace and never-ending love.

Because caring for children is so deeply rooted in our Christian faith, your church is a wonderful place to seek financial assistance to help Reece's Rainbow defray the cost of international adoption and to find new families to rescue these beautiful and deserving children.  Below is a list of the church organizations who have stepped forward to promote Reece's Rainbow and are actively seeking to return ALL of these children to God's kingdom.   Be creative, ask your church members for fundraising ideas, and how you can honor God and have fun at the same time!  The youth in your church may be particularly interested in helping you!!  

Fundraisers could include selling our LOGO t-shirts, holding adoption seminars at other churches, spaghetti dinners, charity softball games, church-wide yard sales.  Take up a once a month offering specifically for the children waiting for their families at the end of Reece's Rainbow.  Have an "Angel Tree" program at Christmas, take a special offering at Thanksgiving, have an Easter Egg Hunt at Easter....there are SO many ways to do it!!   And remember, donations can be made individually or from the church as a whole.  It is tax deductible either way.
